Why are FatCow and HostGator the Best Web Hosting Sites?

If you ask me what the best web hosting sites are, I’d say FatCow and HostGator hands down. Not only are they both affordable web hosting providers, but FatCow and HostGator both have a proven track record when it comes to service delivery and customer satisfaction. Question is, which one of the 2 is the best web hosting platform?

I’ve tried many web hosting providers in the past across various niche markets, some of which are largely disappointing to say the very least, however these 2 names have made quite an impact and stand out above the rest for me personally.

When it comes to professionalism, design and humor, FatCow.com wins hands down. Although HostGator.com only lacks the humor side, but web hosting is not about having a good laugh now is it? Well, it surely makes things a bit more interesting I’d say…

Both offer free advertising credits, but in all honesty FatCow wins here, giving you more than $100 free advertising credit for Google Adwords, Yahoo and Bing, whereas HostGator only gives $100 for Google Adwords.

With both you get free shopping carts to sell your goods, unlimited bandwidth and free (easy to use) website builders. FatCow, once again is a bit easier to use and navigate, where HostGator uses a slightly more advanced cPanel platform.

As for pricing, a Host Gator domain can be puchased for $3.96, where Fat Cow is $4.67 per month. Not a huge difference. What I like about FatCow as well is that they give current customers even bigger discounts, meaning if you want to purchase a second site, you only pay $2.96 per month, that’s about as cheap as it gets when it comes to affordable web hosting, making this one of the best web hosting sites out there.

So, FatCow or HostGator?

I’d say FatCow.com, simply because it’s easier to use, gives you more advertising credit and gives you great deals as a customer in the long run. I can’t say anything bad about HotGator though, some advanced webmasters might prefer Host Gator as Fat Cow is more “newbie-friendly”.
